The Institute of Leadership and Management Accredited Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers will be available at the end of May 2007. The aim is to develop team leaders and first line managers to provide workplace coaching to members of their teams or others whom they manage.
The programme has two primary objectives:-
The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines the verb to coach as to 'tutor, train, give hints to, prime with facts.' Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. If you can recognise potential in an individual, nurture that individual in order to realise that potential the results in terms of improved performance will be significant.
The Coaching programme will consist of a minimum of 24 guided learning hours and 6 hours practical coaching. Module 1 will look at coaching skills and standrads for managers and team leaders. It will examine good practice in coaching, learning styles and barriers to effective coaching. Communication skills will also be looked at. The second module will analyse the coaching process.
This programme is available to be booked now. However it won't become an ILM accredited course until May 2007. If you would like more information then please do get in touch as explained below.
