Orbis Technology( part of the News International group), the world leader in interactive gambling software, took part in five management training and team-building courses with Call of the Wild in 2004 and has another two planned for later this year.
John Bridgen, Director of Operations at Orbis, said: “Before we began our courses with Call of the Wild, we’d had mixed experiences with corporate training. They tended to be quite light-weight and not focused on what we wanted to achieve.
“We’re a fast-growing business, which places a high value on our staff and we want to reward and develop them as much as possible. Call of the Wild provide us with superb packages that are tailored to meet our exact objectives.
“Not only did they come to discuss each individual taking part with me before hand, but they made sure that every aspect of the course was geared around what we wanted each of them to achieve. For some it was to build confidence and for others it was to test their leadership skills, so we were pleased that Call of the Wild took the time to learn a bit about each of them before the course began."
“As well as updating us on current management and team theories, we have taken part in outdoor activities like canyoning, rock-climbing and caving, all of which were fun and relevant – but more importantly strategically thought through. In several cases, we wanted to see who in the team showed strong management potential and, as a result of the courses, several people have been promoted.
“As an innovative business ourselves, it was great to find a like-minded training company that is in touch with our business needs.”

How do you help a disparate team of UK wide site managers improve communication and work together for the pursuance of Company objectives?
15 managers from a well known UK wide company met at our training facility
for a 3 day tailor-made programme. These managers work in geographically dispersed offices across the UK. Upper management clearly saw this group as important to the future growth of the company. The objectives of the programme revolved around improving communication, sharing of ideas, introducing common goals and familiarisation with work colleagues.
What would YOU do in this situation to expand their thinking?
How would YOU facilitate this group to be open to new ways of behaving?
The programme we created sought to address these issues.

Our client said "I can say, without fear of contradiction, that all members of staff who attended have been absolutely delighted with the content and the benefits they have gained from it."
After tendering for the this work against 6 of the top development training companies in the UK Panasonic selected Call of the Wild to help design and deliver some of the key components of their in-house future leader programme.
Orbis, part of the News International Group, requested our input in phase 1 to build stronger relationships within newly formed teams and work more effectively as part of their teams. In phase 2 it was to help identify those with leadership and management qualities who could be nurtured and developed within the Company. Starting in 2004, this is an ongoing project being rolled out across the Company.
The objective was to make this electronics plant an indispensable element of the larger European division of the company. They sought to do this by enhancing their research and development credentials. Call of the Wild designed and delivered a creativity and innovation programme to be implemented throughout the plant in order to achieve this objective.
Call of the Wild have successfully developed management training, management development, experiential learning, team building, graduate training and corporate event programmes for the following clients:
