Background
Hill Hire, a part of the HBOS group and one of the UK ’s largest Truck and Trailer rental specialists has over 21000 vehicles operating from a network of 17 depots.
Hill Hire pride themselves on providing fantastic customer service by constantly developing and empowering their staff.
Call of the Wild were approached by Hill Hire to design and deliver a series of bespoke team programs aimed at supporting the development of key staff within the business, with the focus on the identification and development of effective leadership behaviours.
The Objectives
A number of meetings between Hill Hire and Call of the Wild were used to identify and explore the clients key objectives:
- To increase self awareness of each delegates preferred leadership style
- To provide an opportunity to explore productive leadership and team behaviours
- To identify and make explicit team goals and values in the delivery of customer service
- To develop a process for supporting the transfer of learning back into the workplace
The Programme
The programme was designed to take delegates outside of their normal comfort zones in a challenging, yet safe environment.

The programme allows delegates to become self-aware of their own leadership skills and provides a platform and support system to enable them to begin applying their learning to the work environment.
