Our Training Centre
Training & Conference Venue in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales
Call of the Wild’s 70 acre training centre is based in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park – the nearest wilderness National Park to London. Unlike the typical training or meeting venue – be it a hotel or conference centre – our training centre brings the natural environment to the classroom. Even though we are located in a rural setting, we are still only 20 minutes off the M4, which means that both Manchester and London are around 2 ½ – 3 hours’ drive and fast direct rail are available to and from Swansea, Neath or Cardiff. The centre is also only 1 hour from Cardiff International Airport.
The Centre
The farmhouse is a purpose-built training venue, which has been converted from a 200 year old, Welsh mountain farmhouse. Located on the Black Mountain in over 70 acres of land the building and site are flexible and can accommodate courses from 6 to 150. This can be increased to 200 + depending on your requirements. It has all the facilities you would expect of a training venue but none of the formality surrounding most. Visual and presentation aids are available for training purposes. Our staff can offer full catering on site from cold buffet to a formal dinner.
The Local Environment
The Brecon Beacons is actually a mountain range and home to one of Wales’ 3 national parks – there are only 12 in the whole of the UK. The Park is famous for its outstanding natural beauty – with mountains, waterfalls and caves and is so remote that the SAS often use it for training purposes. Don’t worry we don’t apply the Who Dares Wins motto on our programmes! Our base within the Park provides a wonderful natural classroom and playground for our programmes. The Park with its untamed environment of rugged peaks, lakes and green valleys provides the ideal location for a range of programmes, conference break-out options or get away from it all board meetings and conferences in UK.
Living Environment
Call of the Wild are also keen to promote sustainable use of the environment, this means that our programmes won’t cost the earth. The Company has already obtained a Level 2 Green Dragon Award for our commitment to sustainability and is working towards obtaining carbon neutrality status. Amongst the solutions we have introduced include:
- Eco Showers
- Drinking water from our spring
- Electricity from renewable sources
- Recycling Facilities
- 2,000 trees planted
- Use of bio-fuel in vehicles
